Sambalpur: The VIP street of the city, Burla whirled around in the dark. Most of the street lights along the road from Planetarium Street to Overbridge Street are out of order. It is alleged that many accidents occur on this road at night due to darkness. Even though the street lights of this road are not working, SMC has been accused of not taking any action against the maintenance.

The road from Balerpada Street to Sambalpur University is completely paved. Accidents happen due to the stray cows, who wander in the dark road. A high-mast light is installed in front of the second gate of Sambalpur University, but it has been defunct for a long time. It is alleged that the department did not take any steps to repair it. Similarly, low-quality street lights often lead to immobility. There is a general demand to repair all the street lights and high mast lights on this main road of the city immediately.
