Sambalpur: The water level in Hirakud Reservoir has increased after the arrival of the Monsoon in Odisha
Sambalpur: The water level and inflow of water in the Hirakud reservoir increased after the southwest monsoon entered Odisha. While the water level in the reservoir was 600.39 feet yesterday (Thursday), it has increased to 600.56 feet today. However, due to the increase in water inflow, the water level in Hirakud Reservoir has increased.
Similarly, while yesterday, 365 cusecs of water per second was entering the Hirakud reservoir, today it has increased to 9523. While some gates of Chhattisgarh’s Kalma barrage are open, more than 4000 cusecs of water are being drained from here. While some gates of Kelo Dam have been opened, there has been rain in the upstream. According to the information given by the Dharamkud dam authorities, 13.42 mm of rain has been recorded in the last 24 hours. Similarly, 25.55 mm of rain has been recorded in Batamunda. 66.2 mm of rainfall has been recorded in Hirakud.
