Sambalpur: Theft from a water treatment plant, 9 accused forwarded to Court
Burla / Dhankauda: Millions of rupees worth of goods were allegedly stolen from a water treatment plant under construction in front of the Burla Rathi Steel Plant under the RWSS project late last night on 8th July. Nine are accused in the case, Police forwarded him to court. The nine accused arrested are Kahna Behera (23), Dhirendra Kanta (26), Yogesh Barik (24), Khirod Tandi (29), Devendra Thethuar (34), Deepak Thethuar (25), Ajay Majhi (27), Pintu Bhoi ( 28) and Chittaranjan Mahatam (56). One TV, four TS machines, one PC, a CCTV camera and a monitoring system, two batteries and an AC were seized from them. The value of the seized items is around Rs 50 lakh, police said. It is reported that on the night of the 8th, some thief broke into the plant under construction and tore the paperwork first. He then fled the scene with millions in cash. They escaped, threatening to kill him when security forces tried to stop him. This was followed by a written complaint from L&T, Police are investigating.
