Sambalpur: This is the patriotism of the Sambalpur University administration, When will the national flag fly hundred feet high again?
Burla: The national flag, which was flown at a height of 100 feet by the Sambalpur University authorities to show their patriotism, is now lying in a corner of the university. The tricolor, which was hoisted less than six months ago, has been torn down and no new flags have been hoisted.
On January 25, 2021, Prof. Sanjeev Mittal joined as the Chancellor of Sambalpur University. For some reason, Sambalpur University has been in the spotlight since the day he joined the party.
Professor Mittal reported that on January 26, this year, on the occasion of Commonwealth Day, the tricolor would be flown day and night in front of the new administrative building. Professor Mittal said at the time that steps were being taken to meet the demand made by the ABVP in 2014.
A 30-foot-tall national flag was flown over a 100-foot-high pole in front of the university administration building. The ABVP also thanked the Chancellor, Professor Mittal, for his long-standing demands. However, the tricolor exploded in less than 20 days.
The tricolor was removed from the pillar and placed on an empty desk with a new administration. No new national flags have been flown yet. Seeing such a situation, the patriotism of the Sambalpur University authorities is left in the lurch and there is now a rumor in the region that this is patriotism.
The tricolor is our country and our glory. Officials and staff at the Senai University have said no when the new national flag will be hoisted. Attempts were made to contact the Chancellor, Prof. Mittal, by telephone to comment on the matter. However, he did not receive a call seeking comment.
