Sambalpur: Today is the Inauguration of 10 Virtual High Courts in the State
Sambalpur: 10 virtual courts or VC cabins of the High Court are going to be inaugurated today. On this occasion, Justice Dhananjaya Y. Chandrachud is scheduled to attend. Chief Justice of the High Court Justice S. Muralidhar and other judges will attend the program to be held at the Odisha Judicial Academy at 4 pm.
The 10 districts that are opening virtual courts are Baleshwar, Brahampur in Ganjam District, Bhadrak, Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district, Bhubaneswar in Khorda district, Balangir, Jaipur in Koraput district, Puri, Rourkela and Sambalpur in Sundargarh district. Virtual courts of the High Court will function in these areas.
- Chief Justice will attend virtually
From there one can file a case in the High Court. Any errors in the petition can be corrected. The case can be heard in virtually. From there a lawyer can also defend his case. It has been informed that one can get the certified copy of his case from there.
In response to the agitation by lawyers in various parts of the state demanding the establishment of an permanent High Court bench, the Supreme Court ordered the establishment of a virtual court of the High Court. These VC cabins will be opened in every district of the state on the basis of UL directives. VC cabins have been installed in 10 districts in the initial phase. This facility will be available in other districts in the future.
