Sambalpur: There has been a major cyber scam in Sambalpur. Keshab Sahu, a local resident of Budharaja Hargauri Vihar, have been victim of fraud of Rs 4 lakh due to greed in the lottery.
A few months later, Keshab received a photo from an unknown number on WhatsApp. The photo reads KBC Lottery 2022 and Congratulation. Below that you have won a prize of Rs 25 lakh on KBC, it was written in the photo that you won for your WhatsApp use. You are the lucky winner among the thousands of people who are being rewarded this award by the KBC.
A WhatsApp number was then given, and it was on WhatsApp that the lottery number below was called. There was also a voice message, which said the same thing. In a greed for so much money, Keshab called out cyber fraud on WhatsApp without telling anyone. He was then asked to deposit some money as tax for Rs 25 lakh.
In January, he repeatedly sent money to the accounts he had given which he had paid Rs 60,000, Rs 50,000. Even after paying a total of Rs 4 lakh in this way, he did not get any lottery. The fraudster later asked for more money. He later lodged a complaint with the Sambalpur Cyber Police Station on Friday. Police are investigating.
