Extended the leave till 22nd Aug

Sambalpur: Controversy of Sambalpur University Vice Chancellor Professor Sanjiv Mittal is getting worse. This time his salary has been stopped. Meanwhile, he has extended his leave again. Since joining as the Chancellor of Sambalpur University, Sanjiv Mittal has been in the middle of controversy. Out of the 33 lakh 44 thousand rupees provided by the South Eastern Coal Fields Limited, Bilaspur for the clean school campaign, Professor Mittal took a big risk by sending 29 lakh rupees to his close relatives. There were other allegations against him earlier. During his time, the university also gained a lot of notoriety for various reasons. However, luck always favored him. Well, this time he couldn’t. At first he returned Rs 29 lakh to the bank account of the Swachh School Campaign project in his name, but later he was forced to deposit this amount in the original account of the university under pressure.

On the other hand, he took leave from last 26th to 30th due to controversial situation. As 31st Sunday is a holiday, he has extended his leave from today till 22nd August. Last Friday, while leaving Jyotibihar guest house and going home, it was reported that an egg was thrown on his car. Two days before this, posters were put up in different places of Sambalpur Metropolitan Corporation and demanded his arrest. Meanwhile, Professor Mittal’s salary for the month of July has been stopped. The reason for the pay freeze has not been made clear, though it is rumored to be due to financial irregularities.

However, despite demands for legal action against him, the government remains silent. Despite demands for an audit of various items procured during his tenure, the government has kept a surprising silence. While the state government is maintaining a zero tolerance policy for corruption, there is talk of repeated corruption in Sambalpur University.
