Sambalpur: Veer Surendra Sai’s biography will included in the textbooks of NCERT- Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan

Sambalpur: All the unknown heroes of Odisha’s freedom struggle will come to the national stage. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the time has come to bring Odisha’s untold history to the world market, said Union Education and Skill Development Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Shri Pradhan said this while attending the Parakram Divas organized by IIM and ICHR in Sambalpur.

Mr. Pradhan recalled the sacrifices of all the freedom fighters of Western Odisha, as the chief guest in a discussion program titled “Swadhintar Prerna Gatha” Parakram Divas, presided over by Prof. Mahadeo Prasad Jaiswal , Director, IIM Sambalpur, at the local Tapaswini Hall. He said that history is a mirror. No nation can look to the future without remembering its history. We have to prioritize history and introduce everything to the youth based on research and facts. For this, let’s spread the story of the fighters of this land and the history of the struggle. Publish books, include in textbooks. From books to art, the central government has started efforts to bring these issues to the public through various channels, he said.

Along with this, Instruction given to ICHR’s Dr. Raghavendra Tanwar to research the history of Veer Surendra Sai’s struggle. He said that it is his responsibility as the departmental minister as to how Odisha Fighter’s will be included in the NCERT book. On the other hand, the Union Minister Shri Pradhan also said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting to Sambalpur during the inauguration as the construction of Permanent Campus of IIM Sambalpur has reached the final stage. Jayanarayan Mishra, the leader of the opposition party as the guest of honor proposed to create a special chair for freedom fighters on behalf of Sambalpur University. One of the guests, Padhri Khaladhar, recited the biography of Veer Surendra Sai through a poem. Padmashri Jitendra Haripal, MP Nitesh Gangdev, Rengali MLA Nauri Naik were among others. Finally, the Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) issued a directive. Raghavenda Tanwar offered his vote of thanks.
