Sambalpur: Vimsar Finally Introduces E-Ticketing, Putting an End to Long Queues
Sambalpur: The days of waiting in long lines for tickets at Vimsar are over, thanks to the introduction of e-ticketing, which has transformed the entire process. This new technique provides relief to patients and their families who previously had to wait in long lines for OPD tickets.
This e-ticketing system, which was implemented in Burla Vimsar, represents a significant shift, especially after a previous agitation led by student unions. Patients can now take advantage of this convenient facility across 17 different departments during its initial phase.
Booking OPD tickets is now an easy process that can be done on mobile devices. Patients and their families can go to the e-health portal website, register, get a printout, and schedule a doctor’s appointment without having to wait in line.
Despite the official announcement of the e-ticketing system in 2022, progress has been slow due to a lack of attention from authorities. However, recent developments have made this long-awaited solution a reality.
The push for implementation gained momentum following demands from the medical students’ union. The urgency was further emphasized through official letters from the medical chairman, dated March 14th and March 18th, 2024, prompting action from the authorities.
Recognizing the urgency, state officials intervened and issued a directive to the director of health. On March 19th, a representative of the United Students Union reaffirmed the demand for prompt implementation directly to the director.
As a result of these coordinated efforts, the e-ticketing system has finally been implemented at Vimsar, marking a significant milestone in healthcare service delivery.
