Sambalpur: Vimsar Junior Doctors Strike Over Facility Issues

Sambalpur: The Junior Doctors Association (JDA) in Vimsar, Sambalpur, started a movement in response to long-standing problems with the superspecialty building. The facility has been inoperable for several days, compounded by delays in doctor stipend payments. Despite numerous requests to the Dean and Chairman of Vimsar, no concrete actions have been taken to resolve these issues. As a result, the group is calling for the replacement of the Chairman, Accounts Officer, and Head of the Education Department.

The JDA had issued a warning 7 days before, threatening to strike if its demands were not satisfied. As negotiations stopped, the JDA went on strike on Thursday. Their demands include the replacement of key officials, an increase in CT scan machines, MRE availability for patients, and faster service delivery.

In protest, JDA members gathered in front of the Veer Surendra Sai statue on Vimsar grounds and began their strike at 10 a.m. Except for emergency services, collaboration within the facility decreased. The JDA has pledged to continue their agitation until their demands are met.
