Sambalpur: Vimsar’s Medical Ward in Crisis: Water Scarcity and Sanitation Neglect

Sambalpur: Vimsar in Burla has been facing various problems. There are many problems in the hospital’s medicine ward. There are complaints that the cleaning is not done properly. Vimsar explains that the largest medical center in Western Odisha. People from far and wide come here for treatment. The people of Bargarh, Sonepur, Sundergarh, Deogarh, and Boudh districts depend on it. Even if there is a hospital in their locality, people come to Vimsar in the hope of getting better treatment. It has been reported that people are facing various issues in the medical department.
The neurology department is located on the first floor of the Medicine Ward. Besides this, ICU, and CICU have also been facilitated. Toilet facilities for patients and relatives have been provided in front of the medical ward on the first floor. There is also an arrangement of Aquaguard for drinking water. But water is not coming from it. Because the toilet is not clean, the smell is causing the nose to burst. The water taps are broken and rotten in the basin of the toilet. It is not being repaired even after complaining.
The patient and his relatives who came here are having difficulty drinking water. From there, they were forced to move to another floor or outside to drink water. Similarly, the atmosphere on the CICU side is deteriorating due to the toilet odor. The patient’s relatives are forced to leave the cabin due to issues and may be seen sleeping on the porch below. People suffer from the stink while sleeping in front of the toilet. There is a broad desire for clean water, particularly drinking water.
