Sambalpur: Voter Identity Card not Available; How will new voters vote?
Sambalpur: In the last five years, the young generation who have crossed the age of 18 years have many concerns in their minds about who will vote for the first time in their lives. They will not be affected by anyone’s influence and temptation. After 10 days of voting for the candidate of their choice, that is, on the 25th, many voters have not received their voter cards. How will they vote? There has been frustration among the new voters. It is alleged that the parents are struggling to find the voter ID card. The new voters of the Sambalpur metropolitan area applied through the Anganwadi Karmi.
Even after many months of application, many new voters have not received their voter cards. They went to the Anganwadi center where they took the application form and asked that it did not come. Finally, they went to Upajilapal’s office and asked for it. The whole process from applying to getting the voter card is confusing. If the name is on the voter list, then it can be done by showing any other photo ID apart from the voter ID card. There is a rule to know whether the voter’s name is on the list until the voter ID card is received. Such a situation arose when new voters went to vote with other identity cards and found that they were not on the list, as a result of which many new voters were deprived of their constitutional rights. The parents demanded that the district administration take immediate action before this happens again in Sambalpur.
