Sambalpur: Where the bridge has become the market, where the market has been forcibly occupied !
The Govindatola Daily Bazaar under the Sambalpur Metropolitan Corporation area is now sitting on a newly constructed bridge. Before that the street vegetable vendors stay on the roadside. The road was crowded and people are having trouble getting around so they are staying now on the bridge. But no one goes to the courtyard built for the daily market. The market was built at a cost of about Rs 12 lakh for the convenience of the family traders and for the convenience of the people. More than 40 street vegetable vendors have been set up also has a toilet system. There are also parking facilities. However, now people are complaining that it is not working. Shelter for cattle, dogs, etc. and the toilet door is brokered. Locals have complained that this is the case because the metropolitan corporation is not paying any attention so far. Even after so many facilities, the vegetable vendors the merchant does not intend to go to that place and do business. Some parts of it some people have taken over. Some are tying goats, some are homeless, and some are being targeted by anti-social youths. On the other hand, the vegetable vendors the market sits on the main road create a crowd. Accidents are likely to occur at any moment. No concrete steps are being taken by the metropolitan corporation either. Despite repeated appeals from local police and the metropolitan corporation, no action was taken.
