Sambalpur: Whose Duty? Sambalpur’s Scattered Cable Problem Raises Concerns of Neglect
Sambalpur: In Sambalpur city, there’s a dangerous situation unfolding on the streets. Cut cables are scattered everywhere, posing a serious risk to people’s lives. Pedestrians are tripping over them, while cyclists and bikers are getting tangled and ending up in accidents. Despite numerous incidents, no one appears to be taking responsibility.
Tata Power, the company responsible for the cables, isn’t stepping in to remove them. Meanwhile, the local administration is shrugging off the issue, claiming it’s not their duty to clear the cables, even though lives are at stake.
Changes in the power distribution system have left the city with a mess of cables hanging around. New infrastructure has been installed, but the old cables have been left behind, posing risks.
The problem is particularly severe on the Budharaja Fatak flyover, where cables are piled up. Many people, from various parts of the city, pass through this road as there is a Reliance store nearby. This area sees heavy foot traffic, making accidents a common occurrence.
People are rightly asking whose responsibility it is to deal with this danger. It’s time for action to ensure the safety of everyone in Sambalpur city.
