Sambalpur: Widespread Trade of Fake Ghee in Hirakud area

Hirakud: Widespread trade in fake Ghee has been observed in the Hirakud area. Even the products sold in the name of Ghee in ration shops and grocery stores are alleged to be made from toxic chemicals. The shopkeepers are warning the people who buy these that it is only for worship purposes. It means that they are very well aware of this fake oil and are doing its business.

As these products are not regularly inspected by the Food Safety Department, their turnover is increasing. The use of this ghee is injurious to health as it causes the user to suffer from various diseases. Hence, the users demanded to immediately check it and seize the ‘fake ghee’ being traded in Hirakud.
