Sambalpur: Yet Another Job Fraud; Promised Vimsar Position, Extorted Lakhs by Fake Journalist

Sambalpur: Bishwanath Thapa, a resident of Karamati village, was seeking a job. Rudra Pratap Hota demanded Rs 2 lakh from him in June of last year, promising to provide him with a job as an attendant at Vimsar. In July, Bishwanath handed him Rs 10,000 over the Phonepe and subsequently Rs 1 lakh in cash, but he asked to return the money because he wasn’t given the job. Rudra Pratap identified himself as a journalist. Threatened to put him in jail in a fake case if he sought his money back.

It is to be noted that in another case Rudra Pratap has been arrested. Police also recovered a fake press card from him. Bishwanath filed a complaint with the Burla police station after discovering that he had been the victim of fraud. The police have registered a case and started investigating the incident.
