Sambalpur: ₹244 Cr Six Lane elevated corridor to built up in Ainthapali Chowk
Sambalpur: The tender for the Rs 244-crore elevated corridor project in Ainthapali here has been floated. Once completed, it will solve the traffic problems in the busy area, officials said.
Project director of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), K Nageswar Rao, said the elevated corridor plan will be finalised next month. He said construction is likely to start by September. Rao said it would be a six-lane corridor of 2.4 km length, including the 1.2-km long flyover section.
A significant portion of National Highway-53, approximately 12 km, runs through Sambalpur city. However, the commuters witness traffic congestion in Ainthapali on the NH-53 as the Sambalpur-Rourkela Biju Expressway and another road, which leads to the airstrip at Jamadarpali, meet the highway at two separate crossroads in Ainthapali.
