Sambalpur: Second Sambalpuri Book Fair Begins Today, Jayadev Dansana to Receive ‘Kalamshree Award’

Sambalpur: The second Sambalpuri Book Fair, organized by Kalam Parivar and Ghanti Sahitya Chipilima in collaboration, will take place on June 29 and 30 at Gangadhar Meher University. Dr. Jayadev Dansana, a renowned writer, educator, and social worker, will be presented with the Kalamshree Award at this event. This was revealed during a press conference held yesterday at the Sambalpur Journalists’ House. The meeting was presided over by Kalam Parivar’s Chairman, Jayakrishna Behera. Editor Kshetramani Bibhara greeted attendees and gave an overview of the event. According to Avahak Tafikul Hosen, the book fair will be open for two days, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Featured Publications

The book fair will feature publishers such as Urania Publications, Bargarh, Shilpavikash Prakashani, Sohela, Bargarh, Nua Sakala, Kunguripali, Akshara, Sambalpur, and Deepak Kumar Panda Prakashana. The Sambalpur branch of the District Registration Society will also have a stall where students can get free textbooks.

Guests

Professor N. Nagala, Vice Chancellor of Gangadhar Meher University, will be the event’s chief guest, with Dr. Pradeep Kumar Panda, Chairman of GMY Ramroy, and eminent writer Muktakant Pradhan as distinguished guests. A panel discussion will be held on the topic of ‘Coordination between Sambalpuri Literature Writers-Readers-Publishers.’

Programs

Students from schools and colleges will compete in a general knowledge competition. Presentations on Feminism in Sambalpuri Literature, Socialism in Sambalpuri Literature, Sambalpuri Fiction, and Progressivism in Sambalpuri Literature will take place on June 30th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Poetry readings will be held, with the first session from 1 PM to 3 PM and the second from 3 PM to 5 PM. Dr. Swayam Prakash Panda will present a vote of thanks at the event’s conclusion.
