Minor Girl Files Serious Complaint in Sambalpur
Sambalpur: A 19-year-old girl from Sambalpur has accused a 30-year-old man from Bihar of forcing her into illegal activities under the pretense of marriage. She also claimed that the man threatened to kill her 3-year-old daughter when she tried to report him. Today, the girl visited the Sambalpur SP’s office with her complaint. Following this, the Additional SP has directed the Sasan police station to investigate the case.
Background of the Victim
The victim is from Dhankauda in Sambalpur district. Her father is a migrant worker who earns a living in another state. Taking advantage of her poverty and young age, the accused developed a relationship with her five years ago when she was just 15.

False Promises and Exploitation
The man lured her with false promises of marriage and took her to different states, including Delhi and Rajasthan. For five years, he forced her into illegal activities. Whenever she resisted, he physically assaulted her.
Children Born During the Ordeal
During this time, she gave birth to two daughters; one is now 5 years old, and the other is 3 years old. Despite the hardships, she managed to escape and return to her home in Sambalpur about 15 days ago.
Ongoing Threats
After her escape, the man allegedly took their 3-year-old daughter and is now threatening to kill the child unless she returns to him. Fearing for her child’s safety, the victim sought help from the police with the support of Congress leader Sutapa Mitra. The investigation is now underway.
