Sambalpur: Sexual Harassment Allegation Against Professor by Female Assistant; Investigation Report Submitted, Action Will Be Taken – Registrar

Incident at VSSUT Involving Female Assistant Professor

Sambalpur: A female assistant professor at Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) has accused another professor in the same department of sexual misconduct. The allegation, which was made in January, came to light today after the internal committee submitted its investigation report. Despite the fact that the complaint was lodged eight months ago, the delay in submitting the report and taking action has raised concerns and led to speculation that attempts were made to suppress the matter.

Details of the Allegation

The female assistant professor filed a complaint on January 8th, accusing the professor of inappropriate behavior. She claimed that because she and the professor were not married, he frequently invited her to his private quarters. Furthermore, she claimed that he made indecent remarks about her attire and sent her inappropriate videos and messages via WhatsApp, prompting her to take formal action.

Registrar’s Response

When asked about the delay, VSSUT Registrar Pradeep Dang stated that the sexual harassment allegation was investigated in accordance with the established procedures. The investigation committee submitted its report today, and the next steps will be followed following the regulations. He reassured that appropriate action would be taken based on the report’s findings.
