Sikir-Titilagarh second and Titilagarh-Kesinga third line work in the final phase, railway service will be affected for two weeks
Sambalpur: Modernization work between Titilagarh and Sikir stations under Sambalpur-Titilagarh section of East Coast Railway Sambalpur Zone and the third line work between Titilagarh and Kesinga stations under Titilagarh-Rayagada section is nearing completion. The railways will be affected from the 6th to the 18th of this month for safety related modernization work. Some trains have been canceled, some have been diverted and some have been partially canceled during this time to expedite the project, the railway department said.
The Rourkela-Jagdalpur Intercity Express 18107 leaving Rourkela will be cancelled from 6 to 16 and the Jagdalpur-Rourkela Intercity Express 18108 leaving Jagdalpur will be cancelled from 7 to 17. Similarly, the 16301/18302 Sambalpur-Rayagada Intercity Express will be cancelled from 10 to 17 on both sides. Durg – Puri Express will not run from both sides from 11 to 17 July. 17482 Bilaspur-Tirupati Express cancelled from Bilaspur on 9th, 12th and 16th and 18482 Tirupati-Bilaspur Express from Tirupati on 9th, 10th and 14th.
Similarly, 08263/08164 Titilagarh Bilaspur – Titilagarh Passenger 08527/08528 Raipur Vishakhapatnam – Raipur Passenger cancellation from both directions from 7 to 17 July. In addition, five pairs of important long-distance trains will be diverted from Sambalpur-Titilagarh-Bijayanagaram route via Sambalpur-Ib route instead of Puri-LT Express, leaving Puri on the 10th and Surat on the 12th. In addition, the important Samaleswari and Ispat Express has been partially cancelled. The Howrah-Jagdalpur-Howrah Samaleswari Express will run between Howrah to Sambalpur from 6th to 16th and between Sambalpur and Howrah from 7th to 17th. The Puri-Ahmedabad-Puri Express, leaving Puri on the 7th, 11th and 14th and from Ajmer on the 7th, 12th and 14th, the 20823/20824 Puri-Ajmer Puri Express will run on the above changed route. In addition, the Ernakulam-Tata Express scheduled to depart from Tata on 7, 10, 14 and 17 and the Enakulam on 6, 10, 13 and 17 will run on the Jeroli-Kendujhar-Nayagarh-Nayagarh-Cuttack Vijayanagaram route instead of the Sambalpur-Titilagarh-Vijayanagaram route. The train was derailed in Rourkela, Jharsuguda, a source said.
