Ongoing Parking Issues in the City
Sambalpur: Sambalpur has been facing a major parking crisis, and the administration has been taking action from time to time to address this problem. Recently, the municipal corporation sealed a shop in the busy Lakshmi Talkies area due to a lack of designated parking spaces.
Shop Sealed for Violating Parking Rules
According to an official notice from the Sambalpur Municipal Corporation (SMC), officials sealed the “Fashion Up” shop today at 4:50 PM under the Odisha Municipal Act, 1982. The shop violated the off-street parking space regulations, so the authorities decided to take strict action. The shop will remain sealed for the next 10 days. Similar Actions in the Past
Last year, officials sealed the Reliance Smart Mall near Fatak due to similar parking violations. Later, the mall was allowed to reopen after making necessary parking arrangements.
Traffic Problems Due to Illegal Parking
Many malls and large shops in Sambalpur lack proper parking facilities. As a result, customers are forced to park their vehicles on the road, leading to frequent traffic congestion. Citizens believe that the administration should take strict action against all such commercial establishments to ensure smooth traffic flow in the city.
