Sambalpur: An incident has come to light in Sambalpur where the principal and an assistant teacher of a school have been found engaging students in manual labor. The students were made to wash dishes and perform other tasks as if they were workers. Notably, during the midday meal, all students were required to walk 100 meters outside the school premises to wash their dishes in a canal, leading to potentially hazardous conditions. The District Education Officer of Dhankauda Block has taken action against both teachers involved in this matter.
In this regard, Block Education Officer Sevashree Bhoi has informed that due to allegations of negligence in duty, the headmistress of Jatupada Primary School, Usha Hara, has been suspended. Meanwhile, the salary of assistant teacher Sairendri Hati has been withheld for one month.
