Sambalpur: Subhadra Scheme Scam; Cafe Owner and Employee Arrested for Demanding Money from Women Applicants
Sambalpur: As the first installment of the Subhadra Scheme is being disbursed to eligible women, the state government has announced that women who have yet to apply can do so in the coming days. However, in the midst of this, fraudulent activity has emerged, with middlemen attempting to exploit women by demanding money for the application process.

Scheme Applications Targeted at Net Cafes
Aadhar and customer service centers are the designated application centers for the Subhadra scheme. However, scammers have infiltrated the system, demanding money under the pretext of submitting applications on behalf of women. Applications for the Subhadra Scheme were processed today at a net café near Sambalpur’s District Headquarters Hospital. Even though no payment is required to submit an application, the cafe owner demanded money from applicants.
Women Refuse Payment, Tensions Escalate
When several women refused to pay, an argument broke out with the shop owner. After receiving information about the incident, Gaon Police arrived on the scene to investigate. Following the investigation, police arrested shop owner Santosh Bag and his employee Sonu Pradhan, both of whom were involved in the money demands. They are currently being held at the police station awaiting further questioning.
