The controversy has not escalated from Sambalpur University! 30 lakh irregularities in the name of the VC

Sambalpur: Sambalpur University Chancellor Prof Sanjeev Mittal has been charged with financial misconduct. The Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyan project has been embezzled by Rs 30 lakh. The governor and the chancellor took the matter seriously and ordered an investigation.

Sambalpur University had a large sum of money in the State Bank account at Jyoti Bihar to implement the Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyan project. Of that, the University Chancellor has illegally transferred more than Rs 30 lakh to other accounts. The state government has special rules for spending money on government projects.The governor and the chancellor demanded a response to the allegations. Accordingly, the Chancellor issued two reports on May 20 and 27. The report, however, did not satisfy the chancellor. The Chancellor has ordered the Department of Higher Education to investigate. Chittaranjan Mohanty, Additional Secretary-General of the Chancellor’s Office, and OSD Chittaranjan Mohanty have written to the Chief Secretary of the Department of Higher Education directing them to investigate the alleged financial irregularities against the Chancellor. The letter states that the report will be submitted to the Chancellor within the next one month.
