Sambalpur: In the district has been dealing in duplicate fertilizer for many years. The department also sometimes raids. Even then, the inability to curb it has now become a matter of concern. In this case, the district agriculture department today collected three fertilizer samples from a fertilizer shop in the Padiabahal area on the basis of allegations of duplicate fertilizer sales. The department has sent samples to the trader with the same notice.

According to the Department of Agriculture, necessary action will be taken upon receive of the report. According to the department, samples of DAP, gram and urea fertilizers were collected in a raid on a fertilizer shop in Padiabahal today. People complained that the quality of fertilizers sold in that shop was substandard. Samples of the fertilizer have now been sent for testing. The report was released by the department within 10 days. Necessary action will be taken against the department, ”the department said. CDAO Tankadhar Sahu, Fertilizer Inspector Kadambini Shatapath, APD Atma Jagannath Das, Yuyumura Block AAO and BAO along with other departmental officials were present during the raid.

The sale of duplicate fertilizers, pesticides and seeds used for agricultural purposes has now become commonplace. Farmers have repeatedly complained that the fertilizers and pesticides that farmers use to prevent high yields and various pests are not working. Many private companies are selling duplicate seeds to farmers at higher prices. Farmers are suffering a lot from the use of private seeds in the hope of getting more yields instead of government seeds. Farmers complain that the department does not have to carry out raids at regular intervals to control it. Such problems are exacerbated by the fact that the department has no control over domestic fertilizer and pesticide sellers. Farmers often complain that the department does not carry out public raids, and that no further action is taken.
