The LAHARI at the national tribal dance festival @raipur, Chhattisgarh
Sambalpur: The Sambalpur Lahari Institute has bagged the second prize at the National Tribal Dance Festival in Raipur on the occasion of the founding day of the state of Chhattisgarh.
Jharkhand kadsa dance won the first place in the competition with a prize of Rs 5 lakh and the Assamian Carvi Dance came in third with a prize of Rs 2 lakh. Led by Guru Mohit Kumar Swain, Chandrashekhar Dubey, Padmini Dora, Sumit Pradhan, Sangeeta Bhoi, Manoj Pradhan, Sanat Rajhans, Vishal Behera, Bimal Behera, Rajshree Raul, Kiran Sahu, Mansi Seth, Preetichanda Mishra, Rashmita Mishra, Nakul Sahu, Prabhupada Ajit Das, Arjun Bagh and Ajay Suna.
The competition, which ran from October 24 to 30, was attended by 70 dance groups from across the country and 12 dance groups from abroad.
