The second edition of ‘Odisha-50’ by ‘Sambad’ on women entrepreneurs is being organised; the deadline for applications is September 28, 2022
Sambalpur: Men and women must play equal roles in the family and the social economy. Every woman has the ability to be self-sufficient and to bear the burdens of family and even society. Hundreds of women have demonstrated or continue to struggle to become self-sufficient despite a lack of adequate opportunities and incentives. The ‘Odisha-50’ programme, which was organized by ‘Sambad’ last year for such enterprising women entrepreneurs, was highly praised, and a second edition is now being planned. The second edition will include successful and unsuccessful rural women entrepreneurs from every corner of the state who have become or are attempting to become self-sufficient. As a result, the online application process has begun.
Rural women entrepreneurs in Odisha will be trained to improve their financial and market transactions and to contribute to local community life. Women who are interested are encouraged to apply by the 28th. Seminars and brainstorming sessions on women entrepreneurs will be held in four major cities of the state during the first phase of the second edition of ‘Odisha-50.’
The West Odisha level programme, which will be held in Sambalpur in October, will bring together independent and self-sufficient rural women entrepreneurs from each of the state’s ten districts: Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Boudh, Subarnapur, Balangir, Nuapada, and Kalahandi. Details of selected women’s success or struggle, as well as their stories filled with human touch, will be featured on the ‘News’ page. Although new entrepreneurs will be given priority, women who participated in the first edition are also eligible to apply for the second edition. As in the past, Sambad will cover their travel expenses to Sambalpur for the West Odisha level programme. Women entrepreneurs chosen from the initial zonal workshops will be invited to the final gathering, which will be held in Bhubaneswar on November 4. The top 25 chosen from among them will be acknowledged. To learn more, visit www.odisha50.in and fill out the application form by September 28.
