Sambalpur: TPWODL’s Unplanned Power Cuts in the Name of Maintenance; Electricity Supply to Be Disrupted for Two Days on January 16 and 17

Regular Power Cuts Throughout the Year

Sambalpur: Tata Power Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL) frequently cuts power for maintenance work throughout the year in Sambalpur. The company claims these maintenance activities ensure better electricity services for consumers. However, the quality of service has not improved significantly, causing inconvenience to residents.

Upcoming Power Outage Announcement

The company has announced a scheduled power outage on January 16 and 17. Electricity supply will remain disrupted from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM on both days. This interruption is due to maintenance work at the 132/33 kv Sambalpur Grid Substation.

Affected Areas

The areas that will experience power disruption include:

  • Cheruapada, Jhaduapada, Badabazar, Balbaspur, Balibandha, Barmunda, Bhalupali, Farm Road, District Headquarters Hospital, Kainsir Road, AN Guha Lane, PHD Colony, Railway Station Area, and Samaleswari Temple Region.

Importance of Maintenance Work

TPWODL explained that the maintenance work is crucial to ensure a stable, uninterrupted, and high-quality power supply. Although the outage will be temporary, it aims to improve the long-term reliability of electricity services.

Apology and Request for Cooperation

The company has apologized for the inconvenience caused and requested the cooperation of all electricity consumers in the affected areas during the maintenance period.
