Cuttack: A major incident occurred at the Bali Jatra in Cuttack, where a young student died due to an electric shock. The accident happened near the Cantonment police station. The boy, who came to see the Bali Jatra, was crossing the road divider when this unfortunate event took place. He was taken to the Cuttack main hospital in a critical condition, but sadly, he was declared dead there.

The boy, named Bishwaprakash Manthan (17), was a student of Saraswati Shishu Vidyamandir in Tulsipur and originally from Jagatsinghpur. The incident happened around 9 p.m. while he was near the Cantonment police station.

While crossing the road, Bishwaprakash held on to an iron divider for support. Unfortunately, this iron divider had been charged with electricity because of the decorative lights that were connected to it. This caused him to receive an electric shock and fall to the ground.
Immediate Actions
Onlookers quickly arranged for an ambulance, and Bishwaprakash was rushed to the Cuttack main hospital. However, despite the efforts, doctors at the hospital declared him dead.
