Sambalpur: Tragic Road Accident Near Burla Right Dyke; Two Bikes Collide Head-On, Three Young Men Dead and Two Seriously Injured
A Devastating Incident
Sambalpur: A head-on collision between two motorcycles in the Right Dyke area of Burla resulted in the tragic deaths of three individuals, while two others sustained severe injuries. The police have recovered the victims’ bodies and placed them in the Burla Medical College morgue for preservation. Doctors will conduct post-mortem examinations tomorrow, after which they will hand over the bodies to the families.
Identities of the Victims
The deceased have been identified as Benudhar Bhue (18), son of Ramesh Bhue from Singhpali village under Attabira police jurisdiction; Chandan Meher (20), son of Kirtan Meher from the same village; and Sampad Bhue (25), a resident of Deheripali village under Ambabhona police limits in Bargarh district.
The injured individuals are Sampad Bhue’s wife and sister, who have been admitted to a private hospital for advanced treatment after initial care at Burla Vimsar.
Details of the Accident
According to sources, the accident occurred in the Zero Point area of the Hirakud Dam’s Right Dyke, a popular picnic spot. Sampad Bhue, along with his wife and sister, was traveling on a bike to join a picnic gathering. Meanwhile, Benudhar and Chandan were speeding on another motorcycle and collided head-on with Sampad’s bike near the Bargarh canal.

Scene of the Collision
The impact threw all riders off their bikes onto the road. Sampad and the other two died on the spot, while the crash left his wife and sister seriously injured and bleeding. Locals immediately informed the police about the incident.
Police and Emergency Response
The Burla police promptly arrived at the scene, rescued the injured, and transported them to Burla Medical College for treatment. The injured were later shifted to a private hospital for specialized care.
