Sambalpur: Uma Kant’s Program Temporarily Halted at Sambalpur Book Fair Due to Uncontrolled Crowd Chaos

Sambalpur: Uma Kant Barik’s Sambalpuri songs enchanted the crowd in Sambalpur. However, the overwhelming number of attendees quickly became uncontrollable. Organizers failed to manage the crowd, leading to chaos. Reports suggest that a young woman even fainted during the event.

The program was part of the Sambalpur Book Fair, organized at Ainthapali P.H.D Ground by NBT and Setu. Besides the book fair, daily cultural programs were held to entertain the visitors. On Thursday, Uma Kant Barik, a popular singer from Western Odisha, performed at the event.

Unmanageable Crowd Causes Chaos

People traveled long distances to listen to Uma Kant’s soulful songs. The massive crowd left many without proper seating, resulting in chairs being thrown around as attendees struggled to find space.

Program Temporarily Halted

As the situation worsened, Uma Kant had to temporarily stop the program to help the organizers control the crowd. After some time, the situation stabilized, and the program resumed smoothly, ending on a successful note.
