Affordable Pilgrimage for Senior Citizens

Sambalpur: A social service organization, Saathi Charitable Trust, has launched a special pilgrimage package for senior citizens above 60 years old in Sambalpur district. With just Rs. 101, they can participate in the Maha Kumbh Snan at Prayagraj.

During a press conference at the local Journalist Bhavan on Tuesday, Siddharth Saha, the executive president of the trust, announced this initiative. He explained that many senior citizens and widows face financial and family difficulties, making it impossible for them to visit Prayagraj for the holy bath. This special journey will give them a chance to fulfill their spiritual wishes at a minimal cost.

How to Apply?

Interested senior citizens can collect the required application form from Dolphin Hotel And Daleipada Saathi Charitable Trust Office. To apply, need to submit:

  • A photocopy of Aadhaar card
  • Two passport-size photos

Travel Details & Itinerary

On February 16, at 10 AM, the pilgrims will depart from Samaleswari Temple in a luxury air-conditioned bus. They will travel overnight and reach Prayagraj on February 17, where they will take the Maha Snan (holy dip) in the sacred river. Throughout the journey, a medical team and officials from Saathi Charitable Trust will accompany them, ensuring their safety, health, and well-being at all times.

Full Support During the Journey

From the beginning to the end, Saathi Charitable Trust will cover all expenses related to food and drinks, accommodation, medical check-ups before departure, and travel insurance for all pilgrims. The trust aims to ensure a comfortable, safe, and hassle-free pilgrimage experience for senior citizens, taking care of every essential need throughout the journey.

Grand Farewell Ceremony

Before the journey, on February 16, a spiritual event will take place at Mahanadi Alati Ghat, near Samaleswari Temple. During this event, pilgrims will receive a grand send-off with religious rituals and cultural performances. After visiting the temple, they will board the bus to Prayagraj.

This event will also include saints, district officials, intellectuals, and legal professionals.

Warm Welcome on Return

After completing the Maha Snan, the pilgrims will return to Sambalpur, where they will be warmly welcomed at the Saathi office in Daleipada.

Siddharth Saha emphasized that this initiative aims to support elderly individuals and help them fulfill their spiritual aspirations. Biswaranjan Pujari, Samarjeet Pattnaik, and Madhusudan Mitra were also present at the press conference.
