Burla / Sambalpur: 51 medical students infected in Vimsar. The number of infected students crossed the half-century on Wednesday. As of Wednesday evening, a total of 51 students had been diagnosed with coronary heart disease. Lal Mohan Nayak informed. Of those, 25 were female students and the remaining 26 were male students. A maximum of 23 students from the Gargi hostel are infected.

About 300 students have been tested for Rapid Antigen and more than 200 for RTPC. The number of infected is expected to rise further. However, the Vimsar authorities and the district administration are taking various precautionary measures to ensure that this does not escalate. In view of the infection, the district administration has declared the dormitories of Anandi, Devyani, Sabitri, Dhanwantari and SR (Senior Resident Physicians) declared as micro-containment zones. Six other hostels, including staff quarters, have been declared buffer zones. All shops and markets in the area are closed from today.

On Wednesday, the metropolitan corporation’s enforcement team announced the use of postal machines to strictly enforce the corona cut-off in Burla, fearing an increase in infections in the city. It has been declared mandatory to wear masks and maintain social distance. Those who wander the public places without wearing masks will be fined, according to the mailing machine.

In this regard, Director Lalit Meher was questioned why the children were allowed to do so, he said that the amended rules allow for annual celebrations and the positive students would be kept in solitary confinement.
