Vigilance Raids on Disproportionate Assets
On Wednesday, the Vigilance Department conducted simultaneous raids at eight properties associated with Prasanna Swain, Assistant Engineer of the Water Resources Department in Bhanjanagar. The raids were prompted by allegations that Swain possessed disproportionate assets.

Early Morning Raids at Multiple Properties
The raids started early, around 5:30 a.m. Berhampur and Phulbani vigilance teams conducted searches of Swain’s office, residence, and other properties. The operation involved nine vigilance teams and raided eight properties in total.
Seizure of Key Documents and Assets
During the raids, officials seized critical documents, including bank account information, from Swain’s four-story home in Kulhad, Bhanjanagar. Vigilance officers are also looking into his bank deposits and properties in Berhampur and Bhanjanagar, which include numerous plots, houses, and gold and silver ornaments.
The investigation into Swain’s assets is ongoing, as officials seek additional evidence of disproportionate wealth.
