Another low-pressure area is forming. While a low-pressure area had already developed in the Bay of Bengal’s northwestern region off the southern Odisha coast last Monday, another low-pressure area is set to form on the 19th. This new low-pressure area will develop in the west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal.

As a result, rain is expected to continue in the state until the 21st. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow warning for Kandhamal, Koraput, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, and Kalahandi, anticipating heavy rainfall in these regions over the next 24 hours.

Increased Rainfall Due to Low Pressure

Today, several areas will experience light to moderate rain, with some places likely to see heavy rain. The Bhubaneswar Regional Meteorological Center has forecasted this weather pattern.
Heavy Rain in Specific Districts
Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, and Koraput districts are expected to receive heavy rain today. A yellow warning has been issued for these districts. There is also a likelihood of rain in many places on the 18th. Some districts may experience heavy rain, including Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Puri, Khordha, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Koraput, and Nabarangpur, according to the Meteorological Center’s forecast.
