Sambalpur: Woman Robbed of Rs. 50,000 After Lift Offer near Chaurpur Bridge, Pushed Off Bike; 2 Arrested, Cash Recovered
Sambalpur: Be cautious when accepting lifts from strangers! On the 8th, around 9 AM, two men robbed a woman of ₹50,000 after offering her a lift near the Chaurpur bridge in Sambalpur. After taking the money, they pushed her off the bike, narrowly avoiding serious injury. The two accused Shiv Bag (20) from Senapali under Burla police station and Jyotindra Ranabida (28) from Gaudpali under Dhama police station, have been arrested. Both were taken to court.

Incident Details
Subalaya Barik, the victim, reported that she was on her way from Chaurpur village to Sindurpank around 9 a.m. on the 8th. While on her way, two unknown young men riding a Honda Activa scooter approached her and offered her a ride. She agreed, trusting them, and got on the bike. However, as they were passing by the Pitabali Temple near Sindurpank, the men grabbed her bag and pushed her off the bike in the middle of the street.
Looted Items
The bag contained ₹50,000 cash, a bank passbook, and an Aadhaar card. The police quickly arrested the two accused, recovered ₹42,580, and returned the passbook and other items to Subalaya.
Thanks to the swift action of the police, most of the stolen money has been recovered, bringing some relief to the victim.
