Sambalpur: Youth Dies in Bike Accident on Sambalpur-Subarnapur Road; Friend Critically Injured and Hospitalized in Burla

Sambalpur: A tragic road accident occurred around 7 PM near Khunti Chowk on the Sambalpur–Subarnapur highway, under the jurisdiction of Dhama Police Station.
Details of the Incident
A bike bearing registration number OD15C 2515 met with an accident. As a result, one of the two riders died on the spot, while the other sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at Burla Hospital.
Victims Identified
The deceased has been identified as Prashanta Seth (45), son of Niranjan Seth from Shankhala village under the same police station. The injured man is Sadananda Pradhan (40) from Bishnutikra (Sahaspur) village.

Cause of the Accident
According to local sources, the bike collided with an unknown vehicle. Prashanta and Sadananda were returning to their villages from Sambalpur when the incident took place near Khunti Chowk.
Immediate Action Taken
Soon after the accident, locals rushed to help the victims. They quickly arranged an ambulance and sent both men to the district hospital. There, doctors declared Prashanta dead and referred Sadananda to Burla for advanced treatment.
Police Investigation Underway
The body of the deceased has been kept in the hospital mortuary. Malati Gunderpur Outpost Officer Santosh Parida has registered a case and launched an investigation. The police are trying to identify the vehicle that hit the bike.
