Sambalpur: Drivers’ Association Quits Steering wheel to Protest against last year’s demands and new law on hit-and-run
Sambalpur: The Drivers’ Association has once again come down to protest against last year’s demands and the new penalty system. On the first day of Friday, the Sambalpur Drivers’ Association issued memorial letters to Sambalpur District Collector Ananya Das, RTO Ramdas Tudu, and various stakeholders etc. The Sambalpur Drivers’ Association joined the movement after the truck drivers went on strike against the new enhanced punishment law in the Indian Penal Code for hit-and-run cases. The Sambalpur Drivers’ Association has said that the movement will be carried out indefinitely. However, it is said that no one will be forced to join the strike, those who want to join of their own accord will join the movement. It has been said by the Drivers’ Association that the strike will be done peacefully in all 9 blocks of Sambalpur.
