Sambalpur: Tragic Road Accident Claims Lives of 5, Injures 2
Sambalpur: In a tragic occurrence today, 5 persons died and 2 others were injured in a vehicle accident in Sambalpur. The accident occurred in two separate incidents: two fatalities involving a Bullet and an Activa near Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), and three more deaths in a collision between a scooter and a Pulsar bike at the Chaurpur bridge.
Aksit Kumar Sethi (19) and Aashirbad Tripathi (25), a PhD student at VSSUT, died in the collision. Aksit from Burla was riding a Bullet (OD15Z-3636) from Kirba to VSSUT, while Aashirbad entered the boy’s hostel on an Activa (OD17P-2528). Aksit’s speedy bullet hit Aashirbad’s Activa in the front. The impact of the collision was severe, throwing both victims a long distance and sustaining serious head injuries. Despite being taken to Vimsar’s intensive care unit, the attending doctors declared Aksit and Aashirbad dead.
According to police sources, Aksit, the son of Narayan Sethi from Burla Contractors Colony, and Aashirbad, a PhD student in Mathematics who lives in the Bheden area of District Bargarh. The autopsy of both bodies will done tomorrow.
In another incident on the Sambalpur Chaurpur bridge, a scooty (OD-15-V-4440) collided with a Pulsar bike (no number), resulting in the death of Mohammad Saheed (18) of Motijharan, Sourya Agrawal of Mahabir Gali of Khetrajpur, and Krishna Agrawal of Samaleswari Colony. Additionally, Zahid Khan of Sunapali and Ritik Topaki of Pensionpada were seriously injured. Sourya Agrawal and Krishna Agrawal were certified dead at the district headquarter hospital, while Mohammad Saheed died while receiving treatment at Burla Vimsar. Zahid Khan and Ritik Topaki remain in critical condition.
