Serving Biryani on Lord Ram Picture Plates Costs Shopkeeper Heavily
A biryani seller in north Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area got in trouble for serving biryani on disposable plates with images of Lord Ram printed on them. His shop was attracting a large number of consumers.
The shopkeeper served biryani on disposable plates with images of Lord Ram on them. After eating, customers were throwing these used plates which include Lord Ram’s image into the trash.
When devotees of Lord Ram saw this, they expressed their displeasure and asked the shopkeeper to stop using such plates. However, the shopkeeper continued to serve biryani on plates with the image of Lord Ram, causing a disturbance outside his shop.
When police heard of the event, they came to the site and raided the shopkeeper’s store. During the raid, they took all of the shop’s disposable plate bundles. Four disposable plates displaying pictures of Lord Ram were found among them.
After examining the case, the police detained the shopkeeper for violating beliefs by serving meals on plates with Lord Ram’s image, which was later thrown in the trash.
The incident highlights the need for sensitivity toward religious beliefs and practices. Using images of deities on disposable plates, which would eventually end up in the garbage, was considered disrespectful by the devotees.
