Sambalpur: One Arrested in VSS Marg Shop Robbery; Cigarettes Worth Rs 30,000 Recovered
Sambalpur: A mobile phone and a pan (betel) shop were robbed in the Dhanupali police station area yesterday. Today, the police arrested one of the culprits in this event. MD Sonu alias Sahenbab Akhtar (19) lives in Kumbharpada, Kalibadi, and is assigned to the Dhanupali police station. During his court appearance today, 270 packs of cigarettes were seized.
According to information, someone broke into Debadatta Maharana’s mobile and pan shop on VSS Marg at 2 a.m. last night. A man named Rohan, who lived in the back, heard the noise from the shop. He notified the shopkeeper that a noise was coming from the shop and that someone had entered. After receiving the news, the shopkeeper quickly went to the shop and found that the thieves had broken in and stolen cigarettes worth 30,000 rupees. After receiving a written complaint at the Dhanupali police station, officers started an investigation and arrested the accused today.
