Sambalpur: Students’ Lives at Risk; GM University Students Risk Lives Crossing Stranded Trains at Fatak
Daily Hazards at Sambalpur Gate Railway Station
Sambalpur: Gangadhar Meher University students face daily dangers at the Sambalpur Fatak Railway station. They climb over stranded goods trains on the railway line, a dangerous practice necessitated by frequent train stops. This routine endangers their lives, especially if a girl climbs and the train moves unexpectedly, posing a serious risk of injury or death.
The Urgency of the Situation
Good trains become stranded every hour, causing exams and classes delays. As a result, students must take this risky path. The railway department previously built a foot overbridge at this station but was dismantled for renovations. Unfortunately, they have made no other plans during this time.

Calls for Immediate Action
In response, the registrar of Gangadhar Meher University advised students not to cross the railway tracks. The administration highlights that numerous accidents have resulted in fatalities among students. As a result, they encourage students to leave early and use the overbridge to avoid such incidents.
The authorities need to take immediate action to restore safe passage for these students and prevent any further tragedies.
