Man Sues Perfume Company for False Advertising: Claims Girlfriend Not Attracted Despite 7 Years of Use
People frequently form opinions about a product after seeing advertisements. Companies strive to present their products in a way that encourages customers to purchase and use them. Hindustan Unilever Limited is one of these companies.
Prominent businessman Harsh Goenka recently shared a post highlighting a unique lawsuit. A customer named Vaibhav Bedi has filed a case against Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) for fraud and mental distress.
Vaibhav was significantly influenced by the advertisement for HUL’s AXE perfume. The ad claimed that using the perfume would attract girlfriends with its pleasant scent. Convinced by the advertisement, Vaibhav purchased the product.

Vaibhav used the perfume for almost seven years, expecting the promised results. However, he did not experience any success in attracting girlfriends. Feeling deceived and disappointed, Vaibhav took legal action.
Harsh Goenka confirmed the lawsuit by sharing a post on his X handle. This post quickly went viral, garnering comments and reactions from users. Many found the situation amusing and shared their thoughts on the matter.
One user said, “I’m glad someone finally took action. I’ve been using this product for ten years, and while the scent is pleasant, it has not attracted any girlfriends.”
It’s worth noting that the Indian government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has passed laws prohibiting misleading advertisements. According to these regulations, if a company uses deceptive advertising and defrauds customers, they may face fines and penalties.
