Sambalpur: ISCON Burla Organizes Week-Long Bhagavata Katha at Paramanpur; Celebrating Lord Krishna’s Divine Stories During Kartika Panchuka

Sambalpur: ISCON Burla held a week-long Bhagavata Katha program at the Gopi Kishan Kalyan Mandap in Paramanpur to celebrate the sacred Kartika month and the Panchuka festival. The event ran every evening from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, beginning on November 7, 2024, and ending on November 13, 2024.

Highlights of the Bhagavata Katha

During this week-long event, Shripad Sandipani Muni Das Ji captivated the audience with stories from the divine Leela (pastimes) of Lord Krishna. Each day, devotees listened intently to the sacred narratives, which inspired deep spiritual reflection and devotion.

Devotees and Participation

The event was attended daily by 800 or more devotees from surrounding areas, including Paramanpur, Bhikampur, Nuamunda, Salepali, Tabla, Gambharipank, Pandari, Bhoimunda, Sikarapali, and Serasuan Tal. The significant participation showcased the community’s enthusiasm for spiritual gatherings.

Distribution of Sacred Texts and Prasad

ISCON Burla enriched the experience by distributing copies of the Bhagavad Gita and other holy scriptures. At the end of each session, the event concluded with the distribution of delicious prasad to all attendees, fostering a sense of unity and shared joy.

Leadership and Support

The program was held under the direct supervision of Shripada Amayi Das, the president of ISCON Burla. Devotees like Shrimaan Asit Krishna Das and Vijay Sakha Das, along with other temple volunteers, played key roles in organizing and managing the event. Many generous individuals from the region supported this noble initiative.
