Diwali 2021: Green firework will be permitted in Odisha from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m
Hours after the Orissa High Court allowed the bursting of green fireworks during Diwali celebrations, the Odisha government today issued detailed guidelines on the sale and use of firecrackers during the Diwali, Chhat Puja, and Kartik Purnima festivals.
The Special Relief Commissioner’s Office stated in an order that the sale and use of fireworks shall be limited to green fireworks that conform to the definition and formulation proposed by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research –National Environmental Engineering Research Institute.
Other than green fireworks, the sale and use of other fireworks and joined fireworks is strictly prohibited.
The SRC order stated that the use of fireworks should be limited to 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Diwali (November 4).
Only traders or dealers who obtain and present a certificate from the Petroleum and Explosive Safety Organisation (PESO) after a thorough inspection of their existing stock will be permitted to sell their products.
