Robbery from Sheela Tower: 32 lakh recovered from Riyamal, one arrested
Sambalpur / Devgarh: Sambalpur police have arrested a suspect in connection with the theft from Hotel Sheela Tower and seized most of the stolen money. A team of Sambalpur police raided the house of Rakesh Behera of Banakal village under Gundiapali panchayat of Riyamal police station in Devgarh district and recovered Rs 32 lakh from 39 lakh. Rakesh, who works at Sheila Tower, stole money in a bag and buried it under the ground near his house.
Based on the information and information received from the investigation, a police team led by Additional SDP Tapan Mohanty, SDPO Pradeep Sahu, Dhanupali police officer Anita Pradhan, with the help of Riyamal police, recovered Rs 32 lakh from the ground and arrested Rakesh. Another 4-5 people are said to have been involved in the incident. SDP B. Gangadhar acknowledged that Rs 32 lakh had been recovered and a man had been arrested, adding that he would provide details in this regard on Thursday.
