Sambalpur: Huge crowd at Maa Samleswari’s Temple on New Year 2023
Sambalpur: Long queues are seen at temples to seek the blessings of the Goddess in the New Year. Devotees were deprived of this blessing as the temple remained closed on New Year for 2 years due to Covid. But this year the temple remained open as the covid restrictions were lifted. A large crowd of devotees was seen in the temples. Long queues of devotees lined up at the temple of Sambalpur’s presiding deity Maa Samleswari. Thousands of devotees visited Mother on Sunday and took her blessings. In view of the large number of people, worshiping on New Year’s Day was prohibited. Devotees lit lamps outside the temple.
A special darshan was arranged for mother’s darshan on New Year’s Day. No money was taken for public viewing. A devotee had to pay 100 rupees to buy a ticket for special darshan. Even for the special darshan, there was a heavy crowd on Sunday. Apart from Maa Samleswari, Maa Patneswari, Maneshwar Mandhata Baba, Huma Bimaleshwar Baba etc. devotees were seen in the temple for darshan.
