Sambalpur: 2 vending zones are under construction, there will be further no problems for roadside vendors
Sambalpur: Vendors will be removed from roadsides from utkal divas and shifted to vending zones which are under construction. For this, intensive work is going on by the Sambalpur Metropolitan Corporation. Vending zones will be completed within 3 days and they will be removed from the road immediately. They will be shifted behind the Ramsagar Pond and near the Ph.D. office, Sambalpur Metropolitan Corporation Commissioner Pradeep Sahu informed this.
No vendors can be found on the roadsides of the Sambalpur Metropolitan Corporation area. SMC has already prepared a road map for this. All vendors near the government bus stand and surrounding areas will be given space in the under-construction vending zone next to the Ramsagar Point. There will also be a fish market.
- There is construction going on near Ramsagar Pond and Ainthapali
- Facilities will also be provided in Kainsir, Maneswar
- Roadside vendor will be removed and will be relocated from April
The construction of zones will be done very soon,” said SMC Promotion Officer Subhankar Mahanty. Similarly, the work of vending zone is going on in Ainthapali to remove the vendors from the road from Ainthapali to Budharaja. Along with the vending zone, there will also be parking arrangements. Therefore, illegal parking on roadsides will be eliminated. Further, advanced vending zones will also be prepared in Kainsir and Maneshwar. As a result, roadside vendors will get benefits. Jail Street, Municipal Street, Budharaja Fatak will also have vendors from the roadside.
Mr. Mahanty said that since the Vending Zone has been successful in Shantinagar and Govindtola, this hope is being kept in other places as well. The width of the road could not be increased to keep up with the growing population of the city. On top of that is the vendor’s problem. Illegal roadside parking. The road is often jammed. So the people of the city have welcomed the steps taken by SMC to solve it. Accommodating all vendors in one location will eliminate street congestion and make everything available at one place. Therefore, BJP leader Mukesh Jariwal said that it would be better if one more vending zone is made in Baidyanath chowk, Dhanupali, Jailchowk, Bareipali and around the fatak. On the other hand, the SMC Commissioner said, from the1st april, there will be no vendors on the streets of the city.
