Breaking News: Courts to Commence Early Morning Sessions from April 8 Due to Extreme Heat

In response to the current extreme heat circumstances in Odisha, district and subordinate courts will be adjusting their operating hours beginning on the 8th of the coming month. According to the most recent direction issued by the Registrar of the Odisha High Court, court sessions will begin earlier, at 7:00 a.m., and end at 1:00 p.m. A brief pause will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. to accommodate the changed schedule.

Notably, special exclusions have been given for select locations like Brahmapur, Chhatrapur, Bhubaneswar, Koraput Sadar, and Puri Sadar. Court hearings in these locations will start at 7:30 a.m. and last until 12:30 p.m. This personalized strategy seeks to accommodate particular requirements while ensuring the effective administration of justice.

The Odisha High Court’s Registrar’s directive, communicated to all district courts, underscores the judiciary’s proactive response to the challenges posed by the extreme heat. The courts hope to improve resource use and avoid delays to legal processes by adjusting operational hours during this time of environmental stress.

For further inquiries or clarifications, concerned parties are encouraged to reach out to the respective court authorities.
